It’s back and better than ever! The 5th annual Hilton Head Island Italian Heritage Festival will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The big news—the festival has moved to the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Yearly highlights include a pizza eating contest, a “best restaurant” contest, and a crowd-pleasing grape stomping contest. Cheers to vino!
Captivate your senses with the smells and mouth-watering tastes of traditional Italian foods, such as cheeses, breads, pasta, fish, meatballs, sausage, and calzones. Indulge in decadent sweets like gelato, zeppolis, and Italian ice.
While you taste the food, you can learn to cook it, too! The festival has a variety of unique cooking demonstrations where you can learn to make pizzelle, sausage, fresh cheese, and limoncello—an Italian liqueur mainly produced in Southern Italy.
If you’re not really a foodie, the festival offers bocce, stickball, and a golf challenge for sports lovers. Italy is known for its enthusiastic sports fans. There’s truly something for everyone!
